Back to work tomorrow. The sweet freedom of my days to create art and ramble around in my uniform ( The sweats) is coming to an end for now. Not that I wasn't busy all winter... I actually did a lot of things....but.
I look forward to the change in a way. I like the place I work and the people there. I get to be outside a lot. It's just that I guess I am a lazy slug at heart. :) I love the days I get up, make a coffee, don't have a time frame. And of course there are ALL those things I didn't get done.... oh well. Perhaps next year will be the year I am organized and efficient with my time off. This winter was fun with middle child home quite a bit. We hung out in the city and here and had a lot of fun adventures. I really appreciate being off when kids are home/free. I made a lot of signs! I did some shows. I met with a group regularly (that was started just this winter) of lovely makers/artists who support and inspire. I visited a couple of museums (why don't I do this more often?) I took care of my mom's needs on a weekly basis. I went to yoga! I wrote a blog!! (look at allllll those posts!! ) So it was busy, yes. But still, I had a lot of wonderous days of free time to enjoy beautiful things at my lesiure. I sure appreciate that. I used to be anxious about my time off in past years...Not anymore! On to the next adventure, friends!!

Good morning Spring. There is something that I never tire of about early Spring days. Of course the weather will change again. Of course it may snow. Of course of course. But I still love these first days. The birds are really nice now too. Except for this one sad scene in which a cardinal repeatedly flys her beak into the little side mirror on the black car in our drive. Daily. Over and over. Wouldn't you think she would get it after say 10 or more tries?? Nope. I wonder what she thinks.
Been cranking out the signs for upcoming shows!! Feeling good about that. Affair of the Arts is this Sunday!! Hope I sell a ton. Commited to two rather large shows this year, one at the end of April with my dear friend Lynda (Recraft & Relic show in MKE) and one in September! (Sounds far away but guess what...) ;) Looking forward. |
